Family-owned and operated for generations, Monteith is the oldest independently owned title company in Texas. With seven locations serving Bell and Coryell counties, Monteith provides comprehensive title insurance and closing services to buyers, sellers, realtors, mortgage lenders, and builders while continuing to invest in its people and technology. Founded
Founded by A.M. Monteith, establishing one of the earliest abstracting businesses in Texas and laying the groundwork for a 150-year legacy.
Early 1900s
Monteith Family Leadership
A.M. Monteith’s son, A.L. “Skinny” Monteith, and his wife Mary continued the business, operating from the historic Belton office.
1951
Turner Family Ownership Begins
Frank J. Turner, Sr. purchased the company from Mary Monteith, intentionally preserving the Monteith name in recognition of its long-standing reputation.

Building the Foundation
Frank Sr. and his wife Lida operated the business with just two employees—both of whom remained with the company for more than 50 years—as title insurance began to grow in importance.
1964
Second Generation Joins
After graduating from Baylor University and working in Dallas, Frank J. Turner, Jr. returned to Belton to join the family business.
1974–2022

Monteith expanded across Central Texas with new offices in:
